Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Police Seize Firearms and Drug Cache in Lexington Park Apartment, Suspect Arrested in Calvert County

In a significant joint investigation conducted by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit, law enforcement officials executed a search and seizure warrant on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The operation took place at an apartment located in the 46000 block of Hilton Drive in Lexington Park, MD. The target of the search was identified as 21-year-old Adam Joseph Holland.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives made a startling discovery. They found a loaded privately made AR-15 pistol and a loaded Glock 29 semi-automatic handgun, both with obliterated serial numbers. Furthermore, a substantial amount of cannabis and a significant sum of US currency were also uncovered. Additionally, investigators came across multiple items that strongly indicated involvement in drug distribution.

Just prior to the residential search warrant being executed, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, which had previously obtained a search and seizure warrant for Mr. Holland’s person and vehicle, conducted a traffic stop on him in Calvert County. The search of Holland’s person and vehicle led to the discovery of additional suspected cannabis. Subsequently, Holland was handed over to the custody of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to a previous conviction that disqualifies him from possessing regulated firearms, Holland was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center. He now faces an array of charges, including possession of a firearm in connection with a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, knowingly altering a firearm’s identification number, and possession of cannabis with intent to distribute.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for their collaborative efforts in this case.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related activities and ensure the safety and well-being of the community. The successful execution of the search warrant and subsequent arrest of the suspect serve as a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the officers involved.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office remain committed to maintaining the peace and security of their respective jurisdictions. They urge citizens to report any suspicious activities or concerns that could help in preventing criminal behavior and maintaining a safer community for all.
