– Adam Samer Al-Ghoul (8 years old) – Basil Suleiman Abu Al-Wafa (15 years old) – Muhammad Jamal Zubaidi – Wissam Ziad Hanoun : WARNING: Disturbing Content – Israeli Forces Kill Palestinians, Including Children, in West Bank Raid

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : WARNING: This story includes disturbing content. Four Palestinians, including two children and two senior militant commanders, were killed by Israeli forces in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to Palestinian health officials. The Palestinian health ministry confirmed that the two children, 8-year-old Adam Samer Al-Ghoul and 15-year-old Basil Suleiman Abu Al-Wafa, were shot dead by Israeli forces in Jenin.

Unverified video footage circulating on social media appeared to show the moments when Al-Ghoul and Al-Wafa were hit, but the footage did not clearly identify who fired the shots. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has been asked to comment on the footage, but has not yet responded. The IDF claimed that during their activity in the Jenin Camp, suspects hurled explosive devices towards IDF soldiers, and the soldiers responded with live fire towards the suspects.

One of the videos shared by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA shows three boys running before one of them, identified as Al-Ghoul, falls to the ground and stops moving. Another boy rushes to him and drags his limp body behind a car, leaving a trail of blood on the ground. Another video shows several boys running in the street, with one boy, reported to be Al-Wafa, appearing to be shot and falling to the ground.

WAFA cited “local sources” claiming that Israeli forces shot the boys directly and prevented citizens and paramedics from reaching them. The report could not be independently verified. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also stated on social media that they were prevented from reaching injured people in part of the Jenin refugee camp.

Dr. Wissam Bakker, director of the Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital in Jenin, where the boys’ bodies were taken, said that the Israeli military placed the medical facility under siege and prevented any wounded from entering the emergency department. He believes that the IDF deliberately shot both boys based on the location of the bullet wounds.

The Israeli military also reported that two Islamic Jihad militants, Muhammad Jamal Zubaidi and Wissam Ziad Hanoun, were killed during the raid in Jenin. The IDF described Zubaidi as a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative and one of its central leaders in the Jenin Camp.

This incident adds to the already tense situation in the occupied West Bank, where violence and deaths have been escalating throughout the year. According to the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, there have been over 450 Palestinian killings in the West Bank in 2023, with more than 230 occurring since October 7. Israeli forces have been responsible for nearly all of the killings, with over half of them occurring during search-and-arrest operations and other operations carried out by Israeli forces.

The ongoing violence in the West Bank has raised concerns about the potential for further escalation and instability in the region.
