A Rohingya youth named Syed Alam, 24, was shot dead in the Ukhiya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar this morning, according to reports from our Cox’s Bazar staff correspondent quoting Shamim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station.
The incident occurred when a group of unidentified criminals entered Alam’s room and shot him while he was asleep around 6:00 am. He sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital in the camp. However, despite efforts to save him, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
