Watsonville Police Apprehend Suspect in Brutal Stabbing Incident
Watsonville, CA – In a swift response to a distress call, Watsonville Police officers successfully apprehended a man in connection with an attempted murder investigation. The incident took place on Saturday night in the vicinity of the 1000 block of Main Street, where law enforcement officials discovered a 32-year-old male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Acting promptly, emergency services immediately transported the critically injured victim to a specialized trauma center located outside the county. However, due to the concerted efforts of medical personnel, the victim’s condition has since stabilized.
The perpetrator, identified as Francisco Nieto, aged 47, managed to flee the scene before the arrival of the police. However, the diligent efforts of the patrol officers led to Nieto’s arrest within 24 hours of the incident. He was subsequently taken into custody and is currently being held at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that an altercation had occurred between Nieto and the victim, which subsequently escalated into the brutal stabbing.
