NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The decomposed body discovered last month on a Sandy Township road has been identified as the remains of Katie Ann Fuller, a 27-year-old woman from Stark County who had been missing since September.
According to a news release from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, a report was received on November 4th that a decomposed body had been found along North Orchard Road NE. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the body as Fuller on November 30th. Fuller had been reported missing to the Canton Police Department, and her family members stated that their last contact with her was on September 9th.
The release stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest that Fuller suffered any trauma before her death. It also mentioned that she was known to struggle with substance abuse. The actual cause of Fuller’s death will be determined through autopsy, forensic, and toxicology testing, which may take several months.
