Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : An 18-year-old male student from Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a younger female student in a school bathroom, as confirmed by the Prince William County police. Lamine Mellouk, the accused student, was charged on November 27th with one count of sexual battery, which is considered a misdemeanor offense, according to the county police’s daily incident report.
The incident took place on October 18th when the victim, a female student under the age of 18, and Mellouk were both present in a restroom. It was during this time that the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the victim. Disturbed by the incident, the young girl confided in a family member, who immediately contacted the police. Promptly responding to the report, the police initiated an investigation on the same day.
In light of the situation, Gar-Field Principal Matthew Mathison sent a notification to parents, informing them about the sexual assault charge against one of the school’s students. Mathison emphasized that the alleged assault occurred on school premises the previous month and had been under investigation. Furthermore, he urged parents to have open conversations with their children and advised them to report any concerns or feelings of insecurity to a parent or trusted adult without delay.
According to a reliable source familiar with the investigation, as soon as Prince William County Public Schools were made aware of the allegation, immediate action was taken. The suspected student was promptly removed from the school and restricted to online coursework. Considering the student’s removal from the school population, the school administration decided not to notify parents while the police conducted their investigation.
