Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : New Delhi, December 1 – In a significant breakthrough, the local police in southeast Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area have apprehended a 32-year-old notorious burglar, Mohammad Saidul, and have successfully recovered stolen articles worth a staggering Rs 13 lakh from his possession. This arrest comes as a major relief for the residents of Sarita Vihar, who had been living in fear due to the rising number of burglaries in the area. The accused, Saidul, is not a stranger to the law enforcement agencies, having been previously involved in 15 criminal cases.
The incident came to light when a woman lodged a complaint at the Jamia Nagar police station on November 16. She had returned from attending a wedding program only to find her valuables missing. The police wasted no time in registering an FIR and initiating a thorough investigation. With the help of CCTV footage, the authorities were able to identify the accused and subsequently apprehended him.
During the interrogation, Saidul confessed to being a drug addict. He revealed that his modus operandi involved scouting residential flats alongside his associates, looking for vulnerable targets for house burglary. The accused preferred to strike during the afternoon when residents were typically away from their homes, executing their plans under the cover of darkness.
With Saidul’s arrest, two cases have been successfully resolved. The police have discovered that he had been involved in a total of 15 criminal cases, including house burglaries, theft, and violations under the Arms Act. Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Singh Yadav, stated that further investigations against Saidul have been initiated.
The recovered items include five laptops, 60 grams of gold jewelry, 11 mobile phones, 15 wristwatches, bridal clothes, various other expensive items, one motorcycle, and an assortment of tools that were used in the commission of the crimes. The police have expressed their determination to ensure that justice is served and that the victims are duly compensated for their losses.
This successful operation has undoubtedly restored a sense of security among the residents of Sarita Vihar. The local police are now urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area promptly. The arrest of Saidul is expected to send a strong message to other potential criminals, serving as a deterrent against future criminal activities in the region.
