Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Four individuals sustained injuries in a collision involving a speeding container and five vehicles near the Navale bridge in Pune on Saturday evening. According to the police, the container driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in it crashing into a bus, a tempo, and other vehicles, including a car, near the Navale bridge on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Sinhagad road police station promptly arrived at the scene. Senior police inspector Abhay Mahajan confirmed that four people were injured in the accident, and the process of filing a First Information Report (FIR) was underway.
The area of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway between Katraj and Narhe, which encompasses the accident site, has been identified as a notorious accident-prone zone. Notably, two major accident black spots, namely Navale Bridge and Selfie Point, are located along this stretch of the highway.
The Bharti Vidyapeeth and Sinhagad Road traffic divisions, responsible for overseeing this particular section, have reported a staggering 40 fatal accidents in 2022 alone, resulting in the loss of 44 lives. This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for increased safety measures and improved traffic management in the area.
In a tragic incident on October 16, four individuals lost their lives, and two others were injured when a goods truck they were traveling in caught fire after colliding with another vehicle near the Navale bridge. These recurring accidents underscore the importance of implementing stricter traffic regulations and ensuring regular maintenance of the road infrastructure.
