In a shocking incident that has left the community of Faisalabad in disbelief, a man has taken the lives of his wife and three daughters before ending his own life. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Dijkot police station on Friday.

According to a police spokesperson, Tahir, a 55-year-old resident of Chak No 271-RB Barolaywala, was grappling with severe financial constraints brought on by poverty. Overwhelmed by his circumstances, Tahir resorted to a heinous act, serving poison to his wife, Naheed Akhtar (45), and their three daughters, Raisa Tahir (19), Hafsa Tahir (16), and Zahra Fatima (12). As if that wasn’t enough, he mercilessly killed them by hitting them with a hammer. Consumed by guilt and despair, Tahir also ingested the poison, leading to his immediate demise.

Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the scene upon receiving the distressing information. The bodies of the victims were transported to the mortuary for postmortem examinations, while investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing.

In another incident in the Thikriwala police station area, a police encounter with a gang of dacoits resulted in the death of two criminals, while two others managed to escape. Late on Thursday night, the four outlaws were caught in the act of looting innocent people near Chak No 77-JB, Mullanpur, prompting the police to swiftly intervene.

The police issued a stern warning to the dacoits, urging them to surrender peacefully. However, the criminals sought refuge in nearby fields and responded with indiscriminate gunfire. In self-defense, the police retaliated, leading to the fatal shooting of two bandits. Their accomplices, taking advantage of the cover of darkness and the chaos, managed to evade capture.

The deceased criminals were identified as Talal and Saleem, residents of Jaranwala, who were wanted by the police in connection with multiple cases of dacoity, robbery, and other criminal activities. Authorities are currently intensifying their efforts to apprehend the escaped criminals.

These incidents have sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents devastated and questioning the factors that could drive individuals to commit such heinous acts. As investigations continue, it is hoped that measures will be taken to prevent similar tragedies in the future and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
