Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the Papdahandi block in Nabarangpur, Odisha, a 29-year-old man identified as Radha Santa allegedly stabbed his two-year-old son and a female neighbor to death. The tragic incident occurred in Gujumapadar village under the Maidalpur panchayat on Friday morning, around 8 am.

According to reports, Radha, who was reportedly intoxicated, got into a heated argument with his wife, Malati, over a trivial matter in the morning. Enraged, the accused grabbed a knife and attempted to attack his wife. In a desperate bid to save herself, Malati managed to flee from the house.

Driven by anger, Radha then turned his attention to his innocent toddler son, Bibe Santa, and mercilessly stabbed him with the knife. Janai Santa, a 57-year-old neighbor who happened to witness the horrifying act, rushed to Bibe’s rescue. Tragically, she too fell victim to Radha’s violent outburst and was fatally stabbed. Both Bibe and Janai lost their lives on the spot.

As news of the gruesome incident spread throughout the village, enraged villagers swiftly apprehended Radha. The accused faced the wrath of the community, enduring a merciless thrashing before being tied up with a rope. The assault left Radha with injuries to his head and limbs.

Upon receiving the information, the local police rushed to the scene and rescued Radha from the furious mob. He was immediately taken to the Papdahandi community health center and later transferred to the district headquarters hospital in Nabarangpur. Due to the severity of his condition, Radha was subsequently moved to Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.

In order to conduct a thorough investigation, a scientific team was dispatched to the crime scene. The bodies of the two deceased victims were seized and sent for postmortem examination at the hospital.

Later in the day, Simanchal Santa, the son of Janai, lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Maidalpur police station. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Aditya Sen confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint, and further investigations are underway.

This horrifying incident has left the entire community in a state of shock and disbelief, as they grapple with the tragic loss of two innocent lives.
