Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department has made a significant breakthrough in a murder investigation, announcing the arrest of three men in connection to what authorities are calling a “brutal murder.” Leonardo Santiago, 21, Manuel Carrasco Calderon, 21, and Jose Rodriguez, 20, were taken into custody on December 2, suspected of murdering Bernardo Pantaleon, 30. The arrest came just days after the incident occurred on November 26.

Police were alerted to the crime when they received reports of a body at Mountain View Park, located in the area of 7th and Cinnabar avenues. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of Pantaleon, who had suffered severe bodily trauma.

Sgt. Melissa Soliz stated that detectives took over the investigation and meticulously processed the crime scene for evidence. Various investigative tools and databases were utilized to aid in solving this heinous crime. As a result of their relentless efforts, Santiago, Calderon, and Rodriguez were identified as the primary suspects.

The three men have been booked into jail on charges of first-degree murder, among other offenses. While only Rodriguez’s mugshot has been released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office thus far, it is expected that more information regarding the suspects will be made available as the investigation progresses.
