The victim has been identified as Patrick Kenney Jr., a 42-year-old resident of Milton. Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli confirmed the identity of the deceased on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Kowloon, located at 948 Broadway, Saugus, after 9 p.m. on December 2. Kenney Jr. was discovered with a knife wound and was swiftly rushed to Mass General Hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, authorities revealed.

While the investigation is still ongoing, authorities believe the stabbing to be accidental and do not suspect the involvement of any other individuals. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, in collaboration with detectives from the Saugus Police Department, is actively investigating the incident to gather further details.

This unfortunate incident comes merely two weeks after a brawl that occurred at Kowloon Restaurant on Thanksgiving Eve. The brawl, which took place around 10:30 p.m. on November 22, involved several young men and one individual who attacked others with a glass bottle. Saugus police had previously announced that four individuals would be charged in connection with the fight, and the case will be presented in Lynn District Court.

It remains uncertain whether there is any relationship between the four individuals involved in the brawl. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges being filed against other individuals linked to the incident. According to a news release issued by Saugus police on Wednesday, a report regarding the brawl will be submitted to the Saugus Board of Selectmen.
