A tragic incident unfolded in Dakshin Ekwana village near Tetariya Mor, under the jurisdiction of Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district. A man named Ramayan Singh, also known as Ramayan Yadav, was shot dead late Friday night for confronting a group of youths who were loitering in his cowshed.

The victim, Ramayan Singh, was the son of Degree Yadav, a resident of Tetariya. According to eyewitnesses, Ramayan’s son, Sintu, narrowly escaped the attack as the assailants fired multiple rounds. After the incident, Ramayan was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital in Ara, and later referred to a hospital in Patna for further treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Patna.

Bhojpur Superintendent of Police, Pramod Kumar Yadav, addressed the media and informed them that an FIR has been lodged against three individuals. The police have initiated a search operation to apprehend the culprits. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused individuals, who were known to the deceased, were causing a disturbance and consuming snacks inside the cowshed. When Ramayan asked them to leave, they responded by opening fire, shooting him in the back.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Chandra Prakash, stated that a technical team has been deployed to assist in the investigation. Raids have been conducted in nearby villages, and efforts are underway to trace the mobile number of the main suspect. The police express optimism in arresting the perpetrators soon.

Sintu, the victim’s son, provided a harrowing account of the incident. He recounted how upon returning from his tuition, he discovered several youths sitting in the cowshed, consuming food. When his father requested them to vacate the premises, they attacked Sintu and began beating him. In an attempt to escape, Sintu was thrown off his bike. The assailants then proceeded to open fire, injuring Ramayan and narrowly missing Sintu.

Former RJD Sandesh MLA, Arun Yadav, visited Sadar Hospital to offer support and assistance to the grieving family.

The community is deeply shaken by this senseless act of violence, and the police are determined to bring the culprits to justice. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within local communities and resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
