Shakeira Yvonne Rucker : “Estranged Husband Charged with Murder of Woman Found in Florida Storage Unit”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Estranged Husband Charged with Murder of Missing Woman Found in Florida Storage Unit

Authorities have officially charged Cory Hill, the estranged husband of Shakeira Yvonne Rucker, with her murder after her body was discovered in a storage unit in Orange County, Florida. Shakeira Rucker, a 37-year-old mother of four, was reported missing on November 11 by her family, who informed the Winter Springs Police Department that they had last seen her. It was suspected that she may have left her home with her estranged husband, Cory Hill, who now stands accused of her murder.

Florida law enforcement officials recently declared Rucker’s disappearance as a homicide investigation after her body was found in a storage unit registered to Hill. Prosecutors from the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit have filed formal charges against Hill, stating, “Hill remains in jail under a no bond status stemming from his November arrest of Attempted Second Degree Murder and other charges against his ex-girlfriend and her family.”

Hill, 51, had been taken into custody on November 13 for an unrelated shooting incident. He was charged with four counts of attempted murder after allegedly shooting at a former girlfriend and her family the day prior, as confirmed by Orange County Sheriff John Mina.

During the investigation, authorities received a complaint about a foul smell emanating from a storage unit registered to Hill at 2400 Wiggins Road in Apopka. Upon opening the unit, law enforcement officials discovered the lifeless body of Shakeira Rucker, who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

In response to the tragic loss of their loved one, Rucker’s family has established a GoFundMe page to support her four children, ranging in ages from 7 to 18.

Prosecutors have announced their intention to seek a first-degree murder indictment in Rucker’s homicide case, although the procedural rules currently limit them to filing a Second-Degree Murder charge by Information before presenting the case to the Orange County Grand Jury.

CNN has reached out to Hill’s public defender for comment, but no response has been received thus far.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Shakeira Rucker and stands united in seeking justice for her tragic end.
