Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Tragic Discovery: Abducted Baby Found Dead in Idaho, Father Spotted Naked Nearby
In a heartbreaking turn of events, an abducted baby in Idaho was found lifeless in a wooded area, while his father, the prime suspect in the murder of the baby’s mother, was discovered nearby, completely naked. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office revealed that 10-month-old Zeke Gregory Best was found down an embankment off a roadway east of Idaho Falls, after a group of hunters reported spotting a man making odd statements while lying in a sleeping bag on the side of the road.
The naked man turned out to be 48-year-old Jeremy Albert Best, who was wanted in connection with the killing of his 38-year-old wife, Kali Jean Randall, just two days prior. Deputies responded to a disturbance call at their Victor, Idaho home, and tragically found Randall deceased. Best, the prime suspect in her murder, had fled the scene with their infant son, prompting authorities to issue an Amber Alert. They warned the public that Best was heavily armed and driving a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with Idaho license plates.
Interestingly, a day before the alleged murder and abduction, deputies were called to the Swan Valley General Store in Bonneville County, where Best was found walking around completely naked. He was evaluated at the scene and taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for further assessment of his medical and mental health concerns.
While the exact circumstances of Best’s discharge from the hospital remain unclear, it is known that he was discharged on Thursday afternoon. Authorities discovered Best’s Chevy SUV down the embankment, near where the lifeless body of baby Zeke was found. However, no information regarding the cause of the infant’s death has been released at this time.
After being taken into custody, Best was treated at the scene and subsequently booked into the Bonneville County Jail. He is expected to remain incarcerated until his arraignment.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing, with detectives from Bonneville County, Idaho State Police, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office working tirelessly, aided by Idaho Falls Police Detectives and FBI agents. As details continue to unfold, the community remains in shock and mourning over the loss of young Zeke and the devastating circumstances surrounding his death.
