Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Courtney Gordon, a 38-year-old man, has been identified as the suspect responsible for a horrific multiple-fatal stabbing in Far Rockaway, Queens. The attack left four people dead, including two children. Gordon allegedly used a steak knife to butcher his relatives before setting their home on fire. He was confronted and killed by responding officers.
The incident unfolded on Sunday, December 3, when two officers arrived at a home in Far Rockaway after receiving a distressing 911 call from a young girl. The girl reported that her cousin was killing her family members and managed to escape by jumping out of a window.
Upon their arrival, the officers encountered the suspect, Courtney Gordon, attempting to leave the two-story house with luggage. Gordon allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed one officer in the neck and another in the head before being shot and killed by the police.
NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey revealed that the suspect had set a couch on fire before fleeing the scene. Firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze, and once it was under control, officers discovered the lifeless body of an 11-year-old girl outside the residence. Inside the home, they found the bodies of a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s. A 61-year-old woman with critical stab wounds was rushed to the hospital.
During a press briefing, the suspect’s mother and sister spoke about his mental health struggles. They revealed that Gordon had been mentally unstable and depressed for years. He had also been previously arrested for domestic violence. The family expressed their frustration at not being able to get him the help he needed.
Courtney Gordon, who was homeless and living in a shelter, had recently moved in with his aunt in Queens. According to his mother, she had spoken to him the day before the attack and sensed that something was wrong. She stated, “I don’t know what is wrong, but something is wrong because if anything wasn’t wrong, he wouldn’t have done something like this. So I know something is wrong.”
Gordon’s sister also expressed her efforts to help her brother, saying, “I tried to seek help for him. No one would listen to me. I tried. I tried my very best to help him. It’s just sad, sad that it happened.”
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by the police, but they have confirmed that they were all related. The community is left shocked and devastated by this tragic incident.
