Farid, Gulam Hassan, Sahbir, Talib, Gulzar, Mustaq : “Six dead, six injured as pickup truck plunges into gorge in Shimla”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Six individuals lost their lives tragically when a pickup truck careened into a gorge in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The victims have been identified as Farid (24), Gulam Hassan (43), Sahbir (19), Talib (23), Gulzar (30), and Mustaq. This devastating incident occurred near Sunni in the district, leaving six others injured.

According to the police, the accident transpired in Kadharghat as the driver of the pickup truck, which was carrying a total of 12 laborers from Jammu and Kashmir, lost control of the vehicle. The laborers were en route to Mandi from Sunni when the mishap took place.

Sadly, three laborers lost their lives on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH).

The injured individuals have been identified as Ranjeet Kanwar (21), Aslam Chachi (18), Talib Hussain (21), Akash Kumar (16), Ajay Thakur (26), and Manzoor Ahmed (17). It is heart-wrenching to see such a tragedy unfold, and the entire community mourns the loss of these lives.

Upon learning about the incident, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed his deep sorrow. In a tweet, he stated, “The news of the death of 6 laborers in a private vehicle accident today near Kadharghat under Sunni tehsil of Shimla district is saddening. I express my condolences to the bereaved families. Six other people have been injured in this accident, and I wish for their speedy recovery. Instructions have been given to the district administration to provide better treatment facilities to all the injured.”

An investigation is underway, and authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident. The focus now is on determining the cause of the accident and ensuring that such incidents can be prevented in the future. The community stands in solidarity with the families of the victims, offering support and comfort during this difficult time.
