The incident began on November 30 when authorities responded to a disturbance call at the Swan Valley General Store, where witnesses reported seeing an unidentified naked man. The suspect, later identified as Jeremy Albert Best, was taken into custody and transferred to a hospital for medical and mental health evaluation.
Despite concerns over his behavior, Best was discharged from the hospital without being arrested. Later that evening, authorities received a distress call from the Teton County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Kali Jean Randall, Best’s wife, unresponsive. Randall, 38 years old, was pronounced dead, and the police initiated a homicide investigation.
An Amber Alert was issued for Randall and Best’s 10-month-old son, Zeke. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office identified Best as the suspect and warned the public that he was potentially armed and dangerous. However, the search for Zeke came to a tragic end when hunters reported seeing a naked man making odd comments in the vicinity of Idaho Falls. Authorities located Best’s car off the side of the road and discovered the lifeless body of Zeke at the scene.
Best was subsequently arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail without bond for the murder of his wife. The tragedy has left the community shocked and devastated. Randall, who was pregnant with their second child, leaves behind a grieving family.
