Suspected Robber Killed by Mob on Outskirts of Karachi

In a tragic incident on Sunday, a suspected robber was fatally shot by a mob on the outskirts of Karachi, off the National Highway. The body of the deceased, identified as Sartaj Mohammed, 30, was discovered near Saafi Chowk in Dur Mohammed Goth, bearing gunshot wounds. Shah Latif Town SHO Meraj Anwar confirmed that the deceased was an alleged mugger and had been killed by a mob. The body was later transferred to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for necessary medico-legal procedures.

Accidental Gunfire Injures Teenager in Saddar

A separate incident occurred in Saddar on Saturday night, resulting in the accidental injury of a teenage boy. According to the police, Abdullah Javed was shot when a gun went off accidentally, causing a bullet to hit him in the leg while he was in Bohri Bazaar. The incident took place while Abdullah’s friend, Nabeel Saleem, was playing with his uncle’s firearm. The family of the injured teenager was hesitant to register a First Information Report (FIR), prompting the Preeedy police to file a case against Nabeel and his uncle Faisal Hameed on behalf of the state.

South DIG Syed Asad Raza emphasized the importance of adhering to strict rules regarding firearm possession. He highlighted that license holders have a responsibility to prevent the display and firing of firearms, as accidents like these can lead to severe consequences.

Both incidents serve as a reminder of the dangers associated with firearms and the need for responsible ownership and handling. It is crucial for individuals to prioritize safety and exercise caution when dealing with firearms to prevent tragic incidents like these from occurring.
