Six Labourers Killed and Several Injured in Tragic Accident in Shimla

Shimla, December 4 – In a tragic incident on Monday morning, six laborers lost their lives and as many were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Sunni in Shimla district. The incident took place at Kararghat, approximately 35 kilometers away from the city center, when the driver of the ill-fated pickup truck lost control of the vehicle. The laborers, who hailed from Jammu and Kashmir, were on their way to Mandi at the time of the accident, according to the local police authorities.

Among the victims, three laborers were pronounced dead on the spot, while the other three succumbed to their injuries at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH) where they were immediately rushed for treatment. The injured laborers are currently undergoing medical treatment at the same hospital. Authorities have identified four of the deceased as Farid, Gulab, Sahbir, and Talib, while the remaining two are yet to be identified.

The local police have registered a case and investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
