Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Gurugram, India – Two businessmen tragically lost their lives in a devastating vehicular pile-up near Bilaspur on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway. The accident occurred when a speeding trailer truck abruptly applied brakes, causing a chain reaction collision involving two cars and a canter truck. The incident took place around 9:45 am on a Sunday morning, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
According to Inspector Arvind Kumar, the Station House Officer of Bilaspur police station, “Two bike riders were killed in the accident while we have no information about any other injured parties. An FIR has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding trailer driver.”
The victims have been identified as Prashant Narula, a resident of North Avenue Road, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, and Parmit Sood, a resident of DLF Phase-1 area in Gurugram. It was revealed that Narula’s Harley Davidson bike is registered under his company, Narula Udyog India Private Limited, while Sood’s BMW bike is registered under his company, Climax Overseas Private Limited.
Mukul Kumar, a Delhi resident who was also part of the riding group, provided a detailed account of the incident. He stated that there were a total of seven riders in the group, with Narula and Sood leading the way. The others were a few kilometers behind them. As they reached the KMP toll plaza at approximately 9:45 am, the trailer suddenly applied brakes without any warning, causing a series of collisions involving the i20 car, the BMW car, and the canter truck. Tragically, Narula and Sood’s bikes became trapped between the canter and the trailer.
Passers-by rushed to their aid and transported them to nearby hospitals. However, despite the efforts of medical professionals, both victims were pronounced dead. Kumar emphasized that the group of riders were close friends who frequently embarked on motorcycle journeys together.
Upon arrival at the accident site, the police discovered the damaged bikes and promptly removed them from the road. The trailer truck driver had fled the scene, leading to the registration of an FIR against the driver under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rash driving, causing death by negligence, and causing damage.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to bring the responsible party to justice. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and serves as a call to action for stricter enforcement and awareness campaigns.
