Ti’jere K. Jackson : “Juvenile Arrested in Killing of 21-Year-Old in Woodbury Park, New Jersey”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Woodbury, NJ – A juvenile has been apprehended and charged in connection with the killing of a 21-year-old man in Woodbury’s Wing-Dickerson Park over the weekend, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning when officers responded to a call at 36 Carpenter Street at approximately 1:22 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Ti’jere K. Jackson with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Unfortunately, Jackson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement subsequently ruled his death a homicide.

Investigators have identified a juvenile as a suspect in the shooting, although no details about their identity or age have been disclosed as of yet. Later that day, authorities stopped a vehicle in Woodbury Heights after observing the driver picking up the suspected juvenile. The driver, identified as James Workman, a 20-year-old resident of Barrington, reportedly brandished a firearm at the arresting officers during the stop. Both Workman and the juvenile were then taken into custody.

While the charges against the juvenile have not been released, Workman has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer by pointing a firearm, in addition to weapons-related offenses. Workman is currently being held at the Salem County Correctional Facility.

In connection with the case, another individual, 18-year-old Amante Black-Thompson from Woodbury, has also been charged with criminal attempted robbery. However, authorities have not revealed any further information regarding Black-Thompson’s alleged involvement in the killing.
