Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Two individuals residing in the township have tragically lost their lives in a horrific car accident that took place on Thursday morning at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Locke Avenue. The Perry Township police department has released an accident report identifying the victims as Margaret M. Taylor, aged 71, the driver of the vehicle, and her passenger, Robert A. Bodiford, aged 68.

According to the police report, Taylor was traveling northbound on Locke Avenue SW in her white 2005 Toyota Solara when she crossed Lincoln Way. The impact caused her Solara to subsequently collide with a black Hyundai Sonata, a 2023 model, which was also traveling westbound and attempting to make a right turn from Lincoln Way.

Fortunately, one individual involved in the accident, Bruce A. Bixler, a 48-year-old resident of Massillon, suffered only minor injuries and was transported to Aultman Hospital in Canton for treatment. The driver of the Sonata, Kelly M. Laign, a 60-year-old Perry Township resident, emerged from the collision unscathed. The incident was reported promptly at 10:53 in the morning.

Regrettably, the accident resulted in additional collateral damage, impacting four parked vehicles on the premises of the Diehl Automotive Group. The extent of the damage caused to these vehicles is yet to be determined.
