Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in the Nazir Hat area under Fatikchari upazila in Chattogram, resulting in two deaths and one injury. The incident involved a head-on collision between two trucks hauling rubber and gravel.
The driver and helper of the rubber hauling truck were killed in the collision, while the driver of the dump truck hauling gravel sustained injuries. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Rubel, 26, and Mohammad Alamgir, 28, who were cousins and hailed from the Datmara area under Bhujpur Police station of the upazila.
The injured dump truck driver, Nur Miah, is currently receiving treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital. According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nazir Hat Highway Police Station Adil Mahmud, the collision occurred at the Nazir Hat Old Bridge area around 3 am on Tuesday. The trucks collided head-on, resulting in the injuries and fatalities.
Local residents immediately rushed to the scene and rescued the injured individuals, taking them to the Upazila Health Complex. Unfortunately, the doctors on duty at the health complex declared two of them dead, while the other was transferred to CMCH for advanced treatment.
Following the completion of legal procedures, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families, and the colliding trucks were seized by the authorities.
The accident has left the local community in shock and mourning. The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collision. Road accidents continue to be a major concern in Bangladesh, with reckless driving, poor road conditions, and lack of awareness contributing to the high number of incidents.
