MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in southeast Memphis. The incident took place on October 26, when Memphis Police responded to a report of a crash on Kirby Parkway near I-385. Upon arrival, they found Sarah Hamer, 53, severely injured. She was immediately rushed to Regional One Hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries.

According to reports, the suspect has been identified as DeAndrea Clark. It is alleged that Clark exited a ramp, ran a red light, and recklessly drove through grass at an astonishing speed of 85 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. As a result, he collided with Hamer’s vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot.

During the course of their investigation, the Memphis Police Department discovered a phone inside the suspect’s vehicle. Fingerprints lifted from the phone were matched to Clark, providing crucial evidence linking him to the crime. Additionally, it was found that Clark’s driver’s license had been suspended since 2011.
