Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : In a recent development, the San Jose Police Department announced on Tuesday that three individuals have been apprehended in connection with a gang-related shooting that occurred in East San Jose back in August. The incident, which took place on the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue near Highway 101, left one man injured.
When authorities arrived at the scene on the night of August 24, both the suspects and the victim had already fled. However, the victim was later discovered at a local hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound. Fortunately, his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
After a thorough investigation, detectives concluded that the shooting was indeed gang-related and were able to identify three suspects believed to be involved. On September 26, two of the suspects, 23-year-old Osmin Matadamas and 26-year-old Ivan Quezadas, both residents of San Jose, were apprehended without incident. The third suspect, 18-year-old Adan Villa-Cruz, was arrested on November 29.
During the execution of a search warrant at Villa-Cruz’s residence, law enforcement officials discovered illegal narcotics and live ammunition. As a result, all three suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on several felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of narcotics for sale, and illegal possession of ammunition.
At present, Matadamas, Quezadas, and Villa-Cruz remain in custody and are being held without bail, according to jail records.
