Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Fox Lake Identified as Virginia Resident
FOX LAKE — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in Fox Lake on December 3. The victim has been identified as Troy Dowsett, a 28-year-old resident of Portsmouth, Virginia.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:53 a.m. at the intersection of Route 59 and Grand Avenue. Upon receiving the distress call, the Fox Lake Police Department and Fox Lake Fire Protection District promptly responded to the scene of the accident.
Emergency personnel discovered that a pickup truck had collided with Dowsett, causing critical injuries. He was immediately transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead in the emergency room.
Given the severity of the incident, the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was called upon to assist in the investigation. The Lake County Coroner’s Office was also notified and promptly arrived at the hospital to further examine the circumstances surrounding Dowsett’s death.
