Collin : “Man Charged with Terror Offences in Fatal Eiffel Tower Stabbing”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : A man has been charged with terror offences after allegedly stabbing a tourist and injuring two others near the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, 26, has been placed under investigation by French police on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with a terrorist organization.

The attack took place on Saturday and resulted in the death of a German-Filipino tourist. A British man and a French man were also injured in the incident. Rajabpour-Miyandoab was already under surveillance for suspected Islamic radicalization at the time of the attack. He had previously been convicted and served prison time for a planned attack that never took place.

According to anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard, Rajabpour-Miyandoab recorded a video before the attack in which he pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State group and expressed support for Islamic extremists in other countries.

Under French law, preliminary charges precede any indictment, which would come after an investigation and potentially send the suspect to trial. However, charges can also be dropped.

Rajabpour-Miyandoab has been placed in isolation by a judge’s order. The stabbing has raised concerns among French authorities, particularly with the 2024 Paris Olympics less than a year away. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place along the River Seine.

The incident has also sparked discussions about the movement of individuals convicted of terrorism-related crimes after they have served their sentences. Questions have been raised about how individuals with a history of radicalization can move about freely and potentially pose a threat to public safety.

The identity of the victim has been withheld, with only his first name, Collin, being revealed. The investigation into the attack is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
