Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Mountain View Police Department arrested a man on Monday for his alleged involvement in two car crashes and running over someone’s foot. The incidents occurred on the same day, according to the authorities.
The first incident was reported as a road rage incident on California Street at around 9 p.m. The suspect reportedly threatened the victim, prompting 911 dispatchers to advise the victim to drive to the police station for safety.
The victim informed the officers that the suspect used a gold Toyota sedan to chase down their car and intentionally rammed into it. Interestingly, the same vehicle was reportedly involved in a similar assault on Central Expressway and Moffett Boulevard earlier in the day around 10:30 a.m.
Acting swiftly, the officers located the gold sedan and initiated a traffic stop on the 1900 block of California Street. The suspect was identified as Homero Topete, a 34-year-old individual. The victim of the Central Expressway assault positively identified Topete as the assailant.
While Topete was being detained, the police received information about another hit-and-run incident on the 2000 block of California Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. The victim reported that Topete had run over their foot at an apartment complex before yelling at them and fleeing the scene. The victim, who had been admitted to a local hospital, confirmed Topete as the individual responsible for the incident.
Consequently, Topete was arrested on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a felony count of hit-and-run resulting in injury. The Mountain View Police Department is actively investigating the incidents to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served.
