Rosaly Rodriguez : “Man Charged in Death of Pregnant Woman Found in Suitcase Finally in Custody”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Chippewa County, located in Wisconsin, has recently seen progress in a three-year-old murder case. The family of Rosaly Rodriguez, a woman from Sauk County, expressed gratitude that the man charged in her death is finally in custody. In October 2020, Rodriguez’s body, along with her unborn child, was discovered at an abandoned farm in the Town of Wheaton. The suspect, Jose Dominguez-Garcia, fled the scene, prompting authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest. However, it was not until Thanksgiving of this year that he was apprehended in Missouri.

Dominguez-Garcia made his first appearance in Chippewa County Court via video. His bail was set at $1 million. The attorney representing Rodriguez’s family expressed relief that justice is finally being served. Julian Andriusis, the family’s lawyer, stated, “He feels, I guess it brings relief to the people when somebody gets arrested.”

The suspect is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. Rodriguez, a resident of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, was found in a suitcase at the abandoned farm. District Attorney Wade Newell revealed that a vehicle linked to Dominguez-Garcia was discovered abandoned and appeared to have been used to transport the suitcase containing Rodriguez’s remains to Chippewa County.

Further investigation revealed that Dominguez-Garcia purchased a cell phone in Eau Claire, which was located close to the farm. According to the criminal complaint, when Rodriguez was reported missing, Dominguez-Garcia claimed they had an argument during which she revealed she did not want to continue their relationship and that she was pregnant with another man’s child. Following the discovery of her body, Dominguez-Garcia became a prime suspect in her murder.

Rodriguez’s father submitted a victim statement to the court, expressing the devastating loss he has experienced. He stated, “I will never be able to recover the love that I had for my daughter again, that this criminal murderer has taken away the greatest treasure I had.”

Dominguez-Garcia was arrested in Gladstone, Missouri, on November 23 after automated license plate readers alerted authorities to a vehicle with stolen plates. He has since been transported back to Chippewa County and is currently detained in the Chippewa County Jail.
