BREAKING : “Death penalty awarded in Rajasthan for rape and double murder of minors”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Rajasthan’s Pali district witnessed a harrowing case that resulted in a 22-year-old individual being handed the death penalty by a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court. The accused had been charged with rape and double murder, causing shockwaves throughout the community. The severity of the crime prompted the court to impose a fine of Rs. 5 lakh rupees on the perpetrator.

Judge Anwar Ahmed Chauhan, presiding over the case, expressed his strong stance on the matter, stating that the accused had committed an egregious crime that called for the harshest punishment. The accused, identified as Arjun Singh, pleaded guilty to the charges, leading to his sentencing. The court proceedings revealed that on May 1, 2023, Singh had raped a 10-year-old girl and subsequently murdered her. Shockingly, he also took the life of her 13-year-old brother.

Judge Chauhan, while delivering the verdict, emphasized the gravity of the crime committed by Singh. He stated that killing minors aged 10 and 13, coupled with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl, constituted an extremely serious offense. The judge further lamented that the lives of the young victims had been tragically cut short, as they had not even had the chance to embark on their life journeys. Consequently, he believed that the accused deserved the death penalty as a fitting punishment for his heinous acts.

According to the public prosecutor, Khimaram Patel, the bodies of the minor siblings were discovered in a forest. The children had gone to graze their goats but failed to return home. Concerned family members and the police launched a search operation, ultimately leading to the grim discovery near a village in Pali district.

The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for stringent measures to protect children from sexual offenses and prevent such heinous crimes. The court’s decision to impose the death penalty serves as a stern warning to potential offenders and reflects the justice system’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of minors.
