Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Tragedy struck on Tuesday when a 21-year-old boy from Solapur, who was pursuing his education in Pune, drowned in a water body at Plus Valley in Tamhini Ghat. The incident occurred around noon, and despite the efforts of his friends, his body was not recovered until much later in the evening, around 9:30 pm. The young man has been identified as Rohan Viresh Loni.

According to reports, Loni was part of a group of friends who had visited Plus Valley in Tamhini Ghat for a day out. While exploring the picturesque area, they stumbled upon a water body and decided to take a swim. Tragically, Loni misjudged the depth of the water and drowned. Despite the valiant attempts of his friends to rescue him, they were unable to save him.

As news of the incident spread, disaster management teams were quickly mobilized to the scene. However, the challenging terrain, characterized by large boulders and steep slopes, made the retrieval operation extremely difficult. The teams persevered and worked tirelessly from 4:30 pm, finally succeeding in recovering Loni’s body by 9:30 pm.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of water safety and the need for caution when engaging in recreational activities near bodies of water. It is crucial for individuals to be aware of their swimming abilities and to assess the depth and conditions of the water before entering.

In other news, the Maharashtra State Excise Department recently conducted raids on 10 popular restaurants and pubs in central Pune and its suburbs. These establishments were found to be operating beyond permitted hours and lacking the necessary liquor licenses. The targeted locations included upscale venues in Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, and Balewadi.

The 10 establishments that were subjected to the raids include Plunge in Koregaon Park, Local Gastro Bar in Koregaon Park, Elrow Pune in Kalyani Nagar, Unicorn House in Kalyani Nagar, Iron Bar & Grill in Balewadi, Narang Ventures, Metro Hotel, Lemon Tree Hotel in Viman Nagar, Bowlers in Kalyani Nagar, and Hotel Kaka’s. These raids serve as a reminder that businesses must adhere to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons.
