Julian House : “Surveillance Video Captures Triple Shooting on Westside, Leaving One Dead and Two Injured”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Surveillance footage has captured the harrowing moments leading up to, during, and following a tragic triple shooting on the Westside of Jacksonville, Florida. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, resulted in the death of one man and left two others injured. The shooting took place around 4 p.m. at a plaza situated near the intersection of San Juan Avenue and Jammes Road.

The victim who lost his life has been identified as 21-year-old Julian House. Business owners in the area have shared their surveillance camera footage with News4JAX, which prominently features the sound of loud gunshots. In the video, one of the wounded men can be seen clutching his side as he appears on screen.

Curtis Sowell, who was in close proximity at a nearby bar and liquor store, recounted hearing the gunshots but dismissed them as random. “Just random gunshots for all I care,” Sowell nonchalantly remarked. Conversely, Roxie Windgawsen, the leasing manager for the plaza where the shooting transpired, expressed her fear for the safety of her tenants. Although she was not present during the incident, Windgawsen emphasized her concern for those who were affected.

“I’ve been here six and a half years. Something like that just doesn’t happen in our little business bubble,” Windgawsen shared, highlighting the rarity and shock of such an incident in their community. As News4JAX filmed on Wednesday afternoon, they observed two individuals placing a teddy bear and flowers at the site of the shooting, presumably as a gesture of remembrance and sympathy.

Reflecting on the tragedy, Windgawsen expressed deep sympathy for the victim’s parents and questioned the necessity of the violence. “I feel a big cramp in my stomach. And I feel sorry for the parents. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Was that really necessary? Was that problem really big enough to kill someone?’” she pondered.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. As the investigation unfolds, the community remains in shock and mourning over the loss of a young life and the injuries sustained by others in this senseless act of violence.
