Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Tragedy struck a family in Mpigi District, Eastern Uganda, as they mourned the loss of their 10-year-old son, Rashad Ssekamatte. The young boy was allegedly killed by a 26-year-old watchman who had a falling out with his father, Umar Ssekamatte, the proprietor of Buwungu UMEA Primary School.
According to reports, the suspect had been on the run since November 19th after he allegedly killed Rashad and locked his body inside a security room before fleeing. However, police detectives managed to track him down in Soroti District, leading to his arrest.
Katonga Regional Police spokesperson, Majid Karim, confirmed the arrest and provided details of the investigation. He stated that the suspect was apprehended with the help of other security agencies and the parents of the victim. The suspect has been safely returned to Mpigi District and will be arraigned once the investigations are completed.
