Sukhdev Singh alias Vicky : Gangster Wanted in Multiple Robbery Cases Encountered by Ludhiana Police

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : LUDHIANA: A notorious gangster wanted in multiple cases of robbery, theft, snatching, extortions, and violations of the NDPS Act was encountered by the CIA-II of Ludhiana police commissionerate on Wednesday evening. The gangster, identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Vicky, was involved in at least three gunpoint robbery cases. This encounter comes just 14 days after another encounter took place in the city.

Prior to the encounter, the police had already arrested three of Vicky’s aides. However, Vicky himself remained at large, facing a total of 18 FIRs. The encounter occurred on Kohara-Machhiwara Road, during which Assistant Sub Inspector Daljeet Singh sustained a bullet injury. Fortunately, Inspector Beant Juneja, the incharge of CIA-II, was wearing a bulletproof jacket and was unharmed.

According to Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Vicky led a gang of four miscreants who had recently carried out several robberies in Ludhiana and Machhiwara areas at gunpoint. Among their targets were a medical store owner in the Jamalpur area, a money changer and his customer in the Koom Kalan area, a liquor vend employee, and a grocery store owner in Sahnewal area.

The police had been relentlessly pursuing the gang and had successfully apprehended three of the members. However, Vicky remained elusive until the encounter took place. The CIA-II team, led by Inspector Beant Juneja, was chasing Vicky on Kohara-Machhiwara Road when he opened fire on the police. In self-defense, the police fired back, resulting in Vicky’s death.

The encounter marks a significant achievement for the Ludhiana police in their efforts to curb the activities of notorious criminals in the city.
