Kadapi Mimbesa Arsani Membisa Jafar Gamo Sultan : “Police Reveal Faces of Persons of Interest in MSU Gym Bombing Case”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released the faces of two additional “persons of interest” (POIs) in connection with the bombing incident at the Mindanao State University (MSU) gym in Marawi City. The two suspects were captured on CCTV footage transporting a bag believed to contain the bomb used in the attack.

According to Col. Jean Fajardo, PNP spokesperson, the two POIs were identified after the Special Investigation Task Group analyzed the CCTV footage from the area. “POI 1” was seen driving the motorcycle, while “POI 2” was the back rider carrying the bag. The footage showed the suspects entering the MSU gym at around 6:08 a.m., just minutes before the explosion occurred.

Fajardo pointed out that the back rider, wearing white long sleeves and khaki pants, was seen carrying a bag that is believed to contain the actual bomb used in the attack. She also mentioned that the shape of the bumps on the bag indicates that it may contain a 60-mm mortar bomb and a rocket-propelled grenade.

In an effort to gather more information and assistance from the public, the PNP released the faces of the two POIs. Fajardo emphasized the importance of the public’s cooperation in identifying and apprehending the suspects.

Earlier, the PNP identified two other suspects in the case, Kadapi Mimbesa, alias “Engineer,” and Arsani Membisa, who goes by three aliases. Both suspects are alleged members of the Maute group under the Daulah Islamiyah and have been involved in previous bombing incidents. They also have pending arrest warrants.

In a separate development, the Armed Forces of the Philippines announced the arrest of another suspect, Jafar Gamo Sultan, on November 8. Sultan was apprehended by joint elements of the military’s Task Force Marawi and Marawi City Police. His arrest adds another layer to the ongoing investigation into the MSU bombing.

The PNP and other law enforcement agencies are continuing their efforts to gather more evidence and identify all individuals involved in the bombing incident. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
