Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) made significant progress in its crackdown on the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) with the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a range of illicit items in a multi-state operation. During the raids, which took place in Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi, the NIA confiscated an assortment of items including an Army uniform, firearms, ammunition, digital devices, cash, and jewelry.
The searches were conducted at 23 locations, with a particular focus on areas associated with the PLFI, a banned outfit based in Jharkhand. The arrested individuals have been identified as Raman Kumar Sonu from Bihar and Nivesh Kumar from South-West Delhi. Both suspects are named in the FIR registered by the NIA, which alleges that the PLFI leaders, cadre, and sympathizers were involved in extortion and levy collection activities across multiple states.
The seized items include two pistols, live rounds of ammunition, ₹3 lakh in cash, incriminating digital devices such as mobile phones, SIM cards, pen drives, and DVRs, as well as documents such as a diary and papers. Notably, an Indian Army uniform was also found in the possession of the suspects. The NIA had initiated the case suo moto on October 11 and discovered that the PLFI was generating funds through extortion from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors, and businessmen operating in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.
Furthermore, the agency uncovered evidence suggesting that the PLFI operatives were planning various terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces, murder, arson, and the use of explosives. They were also involved in recruitment efforts and the procurement of arms and ammunition. The NIA believes that the PLFI was conspiring to revive and expand its operations in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and other states affected by the outlawed outfit.
The arrests and seizures made during this operation mark a significant blow to the PLFI and its illegal activities. The NIA’s relentless efforts to dismantle criminal organizations and maintain national security continue to yield positive results.
