According to DSP Doraha Nikhil Garg, on December 13, the police team set up a checkpoint on GT Road to inspect suspicious vehicles. They intercepted a car traveling from Khanna towards Ludhiana and discovered Rs.9.5 lakhs in fake currency during the search.

Further investigations led to the arrest of the accused and the recovery of an additional Rs.4.2 lakhs in counterfeit money from Gurdeep Singh’s rented accommodation in Patiala. The police also seized a color printer, ink, and note printing paper from the same location, which the accused used for producing fake notes.
