Arbina : “Three-year-old girl in Bengaluru run over by car, post-mortem reveals”

Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru when a three-year-old girl was fatally struck by a car, as revealed by a post-mortem examination. The victim, identified as Arbina, resided in Samrudhi Apartment in Kasavanahalli. Although the accident occurred on December 9, it only came to light recently.

The case was registered based on the complaint filed by Arbina’s father, Jog Jathar, who hails from Nepal and worked as a security guard at Samrudhi Apartment. The unfortunate incident took place around 8:30 am when Arbina was playing near the apartment gate. It is alleged that she was run over by a resident’s car.

Arbina suffered injuries to her right hand and leg, causing her immense pain. Jog Jathar initially believed that she was struck by the gate and rushed her to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) for medical assistance. Tragically, she was declared dead upon arrival.

Following the accident, the Bellandur police were alerted and a case of unnatural death was registered. The child’s body was then taken to St John’s Hospital for a post-mortem examination. During the examination, doctors discovered signs of internal bleeding in Arbina’s head, prompting them to notify the police.

Further investigation was carried out with the help of CCTV camera footage. The footage confirmed that Arbina was indeed struck by a car. In the video, she can be seen playing outside the apartment gate when a car exits and hits her. The rear wheel of the vehicle runs over her, causing her to collapse on the ground after briefly interacting with another child.

The accused, identified as a resident of the same apartment complex, has been implicated in the incident. The case has now been transferred to the Bellandur traffic police station. Authorities suspect that the driver was aware of hitting the child but failed to stop.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Indian Motor Vehicles Act. A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking tragedy.
