A tragic incident unfolded in Audrain County on Friday, December 15, 2023, as a high-speed police chase ended in the death of 22-year-old Dominic K. Bosworth of Mexico. According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, Bosworth was identified as the driver responsible for the reckless pursuit.

The events leading up to the chase began when officers were called to Casey’s in Laddonia after receiving a report of a female juvenile being in the company of Bosworth. Upon their arrival, Bosworth attempted to evade the authorities by embarking on a dangerous chase along several gravel roads. Shockingly, he even fired shots at a Missouri Patrol Highway Vehicle, causing damage with gunfire.

Thankfully, before these dangerous events unfolded, the female juvenile managed to escape the vehicle unharmed. However, Bosworth’s reckless actions continued until his vehicle was finally disabled at the intersection of Boulevard and Breckenridge in Mexico. It was there that law enforcement discovered Bosworth with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tragically, despite immediate medical attention, Bosworth was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia during the early morning hours of Saturday, December 16, 2023.

The Audrain County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Bosworth’s death. Meanwhile, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Division of Drug and Crime Control, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
