Death – Obituary – Accident and Crime News : Family Identifies Victim Found Shot to Death in Burning Car in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A family has come forward to identify the victim who was discovered shot to death inside a burning car a week ago in southwest Houston. The incident has left the community shocked and searching for answers.

The victim has been identified as Adrean Arrington, a 39-year-old man. His family expressed their disbelief and anguish over the tragic event. “I couldn’t believe it. That somebody would do a horrible thing like that to him. He didn’t deserve that,” said Alfred Arrington, Adrean’s father.

The family learned of his death days after the devastating incident. Adrean’s aunt, during a heartfelt interview with ABC13, emphasized that he was not just another statistic. “He wasn’t just something you throw away,” she said.

It was revealed that the car in which Adrean was found did not belong to him, leaving the family unsure of its owner. They are now desperately seeking answers and justice. Adrean was a veteran and a devoted father of two children. His family disclosed that he had faced challenges since his other than honorable discharge from the Marines.

“When he came home, he was different. I noticed a change in him,” shared Adrean’s mother. Despite the difficulties he experienced, Adrean had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, even after witnessing and enduring hardships overseas. “He would do anything you’d ask him to do and with a smile,” his mother fondly recalled.

With Christmas just days away, this grieving family is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division can be reached at 713-308-3600, and anonymous tips can be shared with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

In an exclusive interview with ABC13’s Daniela Hurtado, Arrington’s family will share the heartbreaking story of how they discovered their loved one’s tragic fate. Tune in to Eyewitness News tonight at 10 to hear their account.
