ACT Policing Detective Acting Inspector Matt Innes emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that the fire completely destroyed the house, resulting in approximately $700,000 worth of damage. He also highlighted the potential for even greater tragedy had anyone been inside the home at the time of the fire.

He urged the man depicted in the face-fit image to come forward and contact the police. Additionally, he encouraged anyone with information related to the incident to step forward and assist with the investigation.
