The Cook County medical examiner’s office officially classified both deaths as homicides, citing multiple gunshot wounds as the cause.
Law enforcement authorities revealed that the victims were outside their home when two individuals inside a gray vehicle unleashed a hail of bullets. The assailants swiftly fled the scene, heading west on 61st Place following the shooting. Sadly, Juan A. Medina Jr. lost his life at the scene, while Mario Medina was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Despite medical efforts, Mario succumbed to his injuries later.
